We all have aspirations, dreams, and passions. Sometimes we are filled with so much excitement, so much so that we believe we can climb the highest mountains, and reach for the stars. On the topic of public speaking, how often have you watched someone and thought, "I can do better than that," or, "If it was me, I wouldn't be doing it like that!"

And sometimes... well, we look at someone we admire and think, "I can never do THAT!"

The thing is, it's natural to feel both ways. It helps to be realistic and know our limitations, right? But are you sure of your limitations? How do you know? Think about that for a second, especially that one aspect in your life that brought you here, where you feel less confident in yourself than you should ... Isn't that something you are just telling yourself?

Here's another question: Have a look at someone you know that is a good public speaker. Approach him or her, and ask: "Have you always been great at this?"

​

Firstly, they will be flattered by your indirect compliment. Secondly, you can take this to the bank: They learned the skill. Because that is what it is; a skill. A skill to master the fear, and a skill to deliver the talk. And within those two categories of skills, are many tools that you and I will work on building and sharpening.

And I have many more questions for you. Like, HOW do you feel? WHAT do you believe? Or better yet, what do you want to DO? And how would want to feel AS YOU DO THAT?

Answer me this?
